WHY TAKE LESSONS?
Learning to sing or play a musical instrument is always an excellent personal investment. Not only is music enriching but it also builds your confidence, focus, and abstract reasoning. Music expands your imagination and opens your mind to new ideas and cultures.

I aim to develop
EXPRESSIVE LIFE-LONG MUSICIANS
by equipping my students with
MUSICAL AND CREATIVE CONFIDENCE.

WHAT WILL WE DO?
Together, we will explore repertoire, improve your technical skills, and learn to apply smart practice habits so you can reach your greatest potential. We'll address your individual music needs and preferences, covering a variety of styles to suit your interests, like classical music, jazz/blues, pop/rock, film and Broadway. Through great music, we will explore how to play with excellent tone on your instrument along with a sustainable physical approach.

I also incorporate basic music theory into performance lessons so you can build up your knowledge of key and time signatures, rhythm and meter, intervals, chords, and basic structural forms. We will take advantage of online recordings and videos to compare interpretations by other musicians. I'm committed to helping you identify musical goals that are motivating and exciting.

WHY LEARN FROM ALISSA?
Students and parents describe me as accomplished, professional, dedicated, energetic, caring, and patient. Beyond my music degrees, I also have years of experience as a successful music educator and insight gained from continuing to actively perform as a pianist, flutist, and conductor.
